Conditions: Towering cumulus clouds by 10:00 AM brought the word 'overdevelopment' to our minds, but it was stability in the Bonao valley that threatened to ruin the party in the end. The wind was crossed and strong from the south until 1:30 PM. However, 20 minutes later it was perfectly soarable and conditions improved to show the highest bases in the week!

Outstanding flights: Pilots noticed how well FAI triangles were paying off, so a bunch went for the already classic route setting a turnpoint south from takeoff, then out in the valley, a third leg north and a final leg headed for takeoff... Italy's Renato Botta pushed a little bit further than the rest of the pack and ended up with a 46 km FAI triangle under his belt on board of his Gin Boomerang Sport, scoring 91 points, the highest score of the comp so far. With a similar approach, Stefano Montanelli on his Ozone Addict R scored over a 43 km FAI triangle. Martin Church went XC with a first leg into wind and a final leg downwind covering over 47 km.
