Today's report: Friday, Feb 9th
(preliminary results)...
Site: Casabito
Conditions: Outstanding conditions! The morning inversion lifted and broke by noon and the day showed the highest bases so far, with very little wind!
Outstanding flights: The race keeps getting tigthter! With only the three best flights scoring for the overall ranking and five good tasks flown already, pilots are concentrating on improving their overall ranking by dropping the lowest scoring days. Today was 'triangle day'! The higher bases, faster climbs and lighter winds allowed pilots to push even more on the southern and eastern legs, with Daniel Crespo pushing the farthest and scoring over a 47.2 km FAI triangle wining the day and setting the new high mark of the comp at 94.4 points! But none of his contestants sat hopelessly... Martin Church marked the furthest southeastern point and managed a 46.2 km FAI triangle, while Nick Roberts and Remo Kutz couldn't make their final legs long enough to comply with the FAI triangle rules but still scored over 80 points...

Category 2 day winner: Sebastian Benz (Nova Mamboo).
